Despite being established by catholics, many of the schools are not religious but secular. They no longer make you attend mass or follow the Catholic traditions.

Arizona School for the Arts is a charter high school that is one of the highest performing schools in the state:

Arizona School for the Arts - Phoenix, AZ

It is in downtown Phoenix near the Phoenix Art Museum.

I am not catholic and none of my friends from Brophy were catholic either. It's not a BYU kind of environment--there are lots of kids there from every different faith background, including atheist and agnostic. I'm pretty sure the other catholic schools are that way too.

What are the best non-religious private schools in arizona? We are Jewish, but don't want a religious school

Phoenix Country Day is probably the best private school in the state. It's also not religious. The catch is it's expensive. It's 22K per year tuition. I would only recommend this school if you want your kids to attend an Ivy League or US News and World Report top 20 university. A lot of the local celebrities send their kids to this school.

Rancho Solano is also an excellent school. Its not religious.

I agree with the others though, Brophy and Xavier are more or less secular schools. They are Jesuit so they aren't Bible Thumper schools. A lot of non-Christians attend these schools and are fine with it.
