Moving across the country to Phoenix
Hi all, I currently live in Kentucky and will be moving to Phoenix AZ, in a month or so. I know tons of people have asked questions about where should I live, but I was hoping I could get some advice on safe places to buy a house for a single woman in her early 20's. Anywhere around Phoenix is good to me as long as it's a nice neighborhood and has places around or under $200,000. Zip codes would be a great help! Thank you so much!

there are great spots all over the metro - i would definitely recommend keeping an eye on work and letting that help guide you to a general area and then break it down from there

What kind of home do you want? A new/er (90's and newer) one or one that was built in the 70's/80's, or older? Do you have any idea where you will be working?

Wanna Trade?
Yes, where you're going to work is going to have a bearing on where you choose to live and what it will cost to find housing. Do you need a house, or will a condo do? Yards are A LOT smaller here than out your way.
When are you planning on moving. Where in KY do you live? I'd like to move your way for me and my horses!
Tell us more and we'll all jump in, you can be sure!

Work
I'm going to be working around zip code 85009, which is not a nice area! Just trying to find a place that would be safe and good for someone in there 20's.

that's a 15 X 40 plot of land apparently and it seems to be in the west valley
working on that assumption I would recommend the arrowhead area for renting - if you are by the arrowhead mall area it's 20 minutes to N Scottsdale / 10-15 minutes to westgate and you have some nightlife shopping real close as well
if you are looking to buy then it would depend on what you liked to do in your spare time and how much you were willing to drive for social aspects .......... many nice communities in the west valley where you could buy for $200k, just not sure if it would be a fit
