any reason know why new sky scrappers in phoenix have large uncovered windows? The building on the corner of central and thomas is a great example of what they should be building, at least in my mind. The East and West side of the buildings have skinny, covered, long windows, but on the North and South side have open windows.
I'd be scared to see what happens when the power goes out
I'm not against building or their designs, just wondering why they are building a sky scrapper that isn't built for the desert..

Hello-I miss Arizona!
Hello I was a bit homesick so I thought I would just say Hi-I live on Prince Edward Island (about 6 hours East of Bangor, Maine) and am a retired x-military contractor. I lived in Glendale 12 years near 43rd and Northern. I really loved it. I moved up here for family reasons in 2005 (chasing x wife!) and am done and moving south again.
I have to spend some time back in Pennsylvania with my kids but then I heading "home". I have heard there have been a lot of changes. I will prob just get a small w valley apartment as it is just me now.
If anyone is curious as to what moving from Arizona to Eastern Canada is really like, I have some stuff at http://mandukejournals.blogspot.com (broken link)
Good for a chuckle-froze my AXX off last winter and the snow was roof deep (no sxxt) and it was -20 at times. Thanks and see you all soon. Best place in the world to live (winter). Here is pretty nice in Summer!
Bye
Joe

A new addiction to downtown Tempe. Me and my girlfriend sat on one of the benches, for an hour, watching people and traffic go by. We also noticed the giant business building going on mill. Scarfed some major sushi.
That's it

Hi all,
I've seen threads on moving to Phoenix and people wanting to get advice, but I still really need help. So I thought I could get some quick answers....Here's the deal....I am married, two kids in elementary school, own a house now but will rent when we get there, can spend between $1,200 and $1,800 for rent, work out of the house and wife stays at home, and my commute will be to the airport.....given all that; I want to live somewhere affordable, safe, great schools, family oriented, and airport commute doesn't matter so much....Where do I want to live?
Thanks

Gilbert, Chandler or Glendale, imho and the first two would be a bit less drive to the airport.
