I can't wait for it to open. I've lived in a number of States, and the Bureaucrats always throw a self congratulation party for freeway openings. Go figure.

I went to the celebration on Tuesday, brought my bike, and rode on the freeway before it opened. It was pretty fun. It would have been nice if more of it was open to be biked on (only a mile and a half each way was), but at the same time, I was glad to spend less time in the heat.

There were a couple dozen advertising booths set up in the road. Most of them weren't interesting, but at least one of them was: a local baker - Breadsmith - was letting people sample his bread.

It was fun to go to once. I probably wouldn't go to one of these things again, unless a friend was going. But I'd recommend going once if you have a chance. It's kinda neat seeing a freeway before it opens. It feels quite a bit different when there there aren't lots of cars driving by at high speeds.

Yeah, I bet that felt really strange!
