I feel your pain. I'm in the position where family demanding I find the house out here without their input. None want to rent so it's going to be a purchase once I decide, then they'll be on their way.

I would recommend Ahwatukee, its family oriented, clean, safe and beautiful (just south of South Mountain)

kreynolds & stevyp,

Here's a link to another thread that I think would be helpful to both of you. The OP from that thread also wanted to know about nice developments with great schools. Of course, it depends upon where your jobs are in/around Phoenix and how long you want your commutes to be, but there is some helpful info in this thread. All of the developments I listed in that thread are good too for walking your kids to/from school. Here it is: http://www.city-data.com/forum/phoen...de#post2801914

Best wishes in your search!

Val Vista Lakes is more than just a great master-planned community. Our nine hundred acre "water-wonderland" consists of four spacious sports parks, meandering bicycle paths, and a luxurious clubhouse. The clubhouse features an eight-court championship tennis complex, indoor racquetball courts, cardio and weight training facilities, junior Olympic swimming pool and spa, banquet and meeting rooms, waterfalls and a tropical lagoon swimming pool with a sandy beach.

VVL offers twenty-four Residential Subdivisions, several of which are custom gated communities, offering both lakefront and off-lake homes. Also included within the master association are a variety of commercial businesses, that consist of restaurants, grocery stores, medical facilities, pre-schools, retail clothing, insurance agencies, banking facilities and automotive needs, just to name a few of the conveniences right in your own neighborhood.

Val Vista Lakes offers something extraordinary for everyone - from community activities and events to resident meetings and recreation.
