Smile Singles in Scottsdale?

Hello!

I'm flying into Phoenix next week to check out the area for possible relocation. My company has an office in north Scottsdale, which is most likely where I would want to live.

? - How is the singles scene in Scottsdale? I'm a SWF, 39, no children, in-shape and attractive. I've been in the TampaBay area 15+ years and looking for a change in scenery (if you know what I mean!).

Any advise/comments appreciated. Thank-you!

It's fairly good but it could be better. The Tempe area has a larger singles population than Scottsdale.

You better be prepared to shell out $$$ for a home in N. Scottsdale. It's filled with golf communities/gated communities and it's very pricey. You can get a condo at a fairly affordable price but a normal detached home will run upwards of $600,000+ in N. Scottsdale.

If you want a great singles area combined with a lower price, I'd look at Tempe rather than Scottsdale. I'd also recommend Fountain Hills; this is my favorite city down here and it's a true gem. It's fairly small (20,000 pop.) but still is within an easy drive of N. Scottsdale without the price.

Talking Thank-you!

I'm selling my home in Tampa and plan on renting for the 1st year or 2 in Scottsdale (no kids or pets so that shouldn't be a problem).

Since I have 3 nights, I plan on checking out a couple of lounge/bars to see for myself, but do know how hit or miss that could be.

Any comments on these places:

Kona Grill
Sapporo
K O'Donnell's
Dos Gringos
J Bar at James Hotel
Vino Lounge
Six Lounge and Restaurant
Suede Restaurant and Lounge
Pusssycat Lounge
Sugar Daddy's
Barcelona
Martini Ranch
Mastro's
Pattie's

Here's a good link for the best:

Personally I love Don Majerli's but it's a sports bar. This is where I'll go to watch the 'Bowl.

I was just in Phoenix and I went to Sapporo on Thursday night. It looks like a really nice place, but it was sooo CROWDED. It was realy standing room only, but it seems like good hangout place. People were dressed casual but nice.

I've been to the J Bar a couple of years ago. Very nice as well. Wasn't too crowded, and had a nice outdoor space with a huge fireplace and the whole place seemed big enough so that you can just sit and chill if you wanted or be in the hustle & bustle of everyone else. The dress was a mix of casual and pretty nice. It had an upscale feel and I would definitely go back.

Barcelona is one of my favorites. The last time I went was last year. They used to have a band on Fri. nights called Zowie Bowie which would sing covers of pop/r&b songs (Christina Aguliera, Beyonce, Usher, Gwen Stefani, etc) I haven't been since they expanded it, but it was huge to start with. It has a nice vibe and is a lot of fun. The dress seemed to be more casual here but you wouldn't feel left out if you did dress it up a bit more. I really like it here. I hear the food is good, but i've never been there for dinner.

On this last trip, I think I did go to Martini Ranch. I remember this place had the word "Martini" in the name, so i'm thinking this was it. I liked this place as well. They had a nice outdoor area that was heated with sofa's. There were a total of 3 bars, one faced the outside area, and the other 2 inside. The music here was pretty good (it was a thu. night) there was a nice mix of R&B & Pop. All in all very nice, and seems like a nice spot to hang out, meet & greet.

Hope this helps. I'm in the midst of moving there from CT and compared to the nightlife here? it's very good in Phoenix

Thumbs up Thanks for the input!

I'm definitely going to check out Barcelona's !

Packing tonight, getting to bed early tomorrow night and up at 3am bright and early Monday morning.

I'm hoping rush hour traffic will be over by the time I land and get my car rental (@10:30am).

Thanks again!

Stacey

Default But will you be there in mid March?

It gets really fun with spring training baseball. Would you like to hang out with a few handsome 40+ year old guys?
