My teenager (15) is already concerned about malls in Phoenix. She thinks they don't exist in Az. I prefer indoor malls myself. I can't stand outdoor malls. Back to my question: nearest mall (indoor and outdoor) from I-7 and Happy Valley.
Might need to go school shopping. Not sure what teenagers are wearing (Barry Goldwater H.S.) I wish public schools had uniforms. Thanks Encinitas |

You're probably closest to Arrowhead Mall. Take I-17 south to the 101 Loop and head west. Exit Bell, turn left on Bell and go less than a mile. It'll be on your left hand side.
Alternative would be Paradise Valley Mall. I-17 south to 101 Loop and head EAST. Exit Tatum, travel south (right) on Tatum about 15 minutes. Mall is at Tatum and Cactus intersection. Both are indoor. Nearest outdoor mall? there aren't many in Phoenix . Kierland shopping center is outdoors. That's roughly on Scottsdale Road and Butherus. Butherus is a couple miles south of Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. HTH~ ![]() |

Theres also Metrocenter. Take I-17 South to Dunlap, Exit and turn West (right), the mall is on the right hand side of the road.
And as for another out door shopping center. Theres a neat place called Desert Ridge. Take I-17 to the 101, take the exit to L101-EAST. Drive until you hit Tatum, exit at Tatum and turn North (west). Desert Ridge is on the right hand side of the road. |

Like the rest said, Desert Ridge (great outdoor mall), and Paradise Valley Mall. Arrowhead Mall is nice as well, but there's more traffic over that way. Also, there is a large outlet mall (outdoor) in Anthem, just 12 miles up I-17. But I don't think it's really all that "outlet", but it's something. I never liked Metrocenter, just not a great area. Tell her not to worry, we have plenty of malls, and just plenty of shopping on almost every corner.

Thanks everyone! That will help a lot. Will be in Phoenix soon, Feb. 3rd !
BTW, my husband went shopping @ Walmart by I-7 and Happy Valley. He almost bought moldy cheese Not a good sign. I guess I won't be food shopping there except for can goods. |

What do you expect from WalMart? I've noticed that a lot of their food is very close to expiration which is probably why it's cheaper then a regular store.

You know, I was wondering about that. Thanks, because I would have been looking for 1-7. Go Bears! Encinitas |
