In the USA: Kamuela/Waimea, Big Island, HI
In the Continental USA: Carmel, CA, with Charleston, SC in second place
Internationally: Paris, France, with the Tuscany region of Italy a close second
Those are my picks today. Who knows how I might feel tomorrow?

This game seems like fun when a move is not on the horizon, but when you're faced with having to make a decision, the fun turns into stress, trust me! We can all take time to sit back and consider places we have perhaps visited over the years and think we may actually want to move to, but when it comes down to it the grass is not usually greener on the other side. I have moved 11 times in 17 years, and I can attest to the truth that things are not always better. I now find myself facing another move (for work) and though I have some control over where the move will take me, ultimately the company will decide. The problem with playing this game is most of us assume our lives will be different or better by moving to a new place, when in reality, virtually everywhere you go in the US or Canada is the same...same stores, same restaurants, same everything. The landscape of a particular area may seem intriguing at first, but once you're there, it will likely wear off.
One of my move options is the Phoenix area and for the last few years I have been longing to make the move there, but now I am really uncertain if it's the place to go. Not because of warnings of heat or scorpions, but rather I moved across the country last fall to a place that is known for its landscape and its friendly people, but within a few months of living here I had seen all there was to see and the people were not all too friendly, and in fact because industry is so big here and on a major boom, most folks think they're all that and a bag of chips! I wanted this move desperately last year but after just a few short months I wanted to pack it in and head back east!
Most of us can find complaints about where we live - even the people in the cities that we think would be awesome to live in, often have complaints of their own, and you really have to take the info on this forum with a grain of salt because the info you find here is really just someone's personal viewpoint, and we're all built differently, so you have to experience something for yourself, and then decide if it's right for you.
I've used this forum a few times to ask questions and get opinions and I really do appreciate everyone's input.

LOL..... You are right I do have a fam. with kid but not married and don't think I ever will nor have I ever stated on this board that I was married. For someone trying to hit on me, I'd expect you'd pay more closer attention to details!
I had you pegged as a 43-59 year old mother of 1 or 2, divorced over 5 years...am I close?

Now, I must sound mature then if you think I'm that old. I know I have mentioned a million times how old I am. I'm only 33, not married (SO for 12 yrs), no kids (!).

that's a good thing...you sound like you have your $hit together! which begs the question, why are you single?

I may have pondered such a thing when I was quite young and impressionable, but it never became reality, and I have no regrets.
Now, its Arizona forever... Arizona always!

1st choice: Marblehead, Massachusetts with a vacation home in Mackinac, Michigan
2nd choice: Marblehead with a vacation home somewhere in AZ near my mother, when she someday (soon) moves there
