Aside from the clothing issue, cops like Joe. I am a 25 year veteran police sergeant and wish we had more like him. Everyone else is just talk talk talk!

This nation needs more Sheriff Joe's. If you do not like his methods of enforcing the law you always have the option to move out.

Sheriff Joe has banned illegal immigrants from visiting county jail inmates and plans to arrest those who are detected. He established a tip line for reporting undocumented immigrants. He sent a 250 member posse into the desert to look for human smugglers and has more than 100 deputies trained to enforce federal immigration laws.

Just a statement with no comment, azloafer? What is your opinion on this matter? Do you approve of disapprove of this latest Sheriff Joe approach to the ILLEGAL situation?

Personally, I APPROVE FULLY and wish more Law Enforcement Officials in our country would follow suit.

One cannot help but to wonder if those innocent students in New Jersey would be alive today if all of this "sanctuary city / state" crap was outlawed and there were more Sheriff Joes in charge.

bummer and paulnick are right on. We, the voters, have over the years continued to vote for Joe as he's the only one with guts and fortitude to do the job the legal people want done.

Regardless, Joe is a joke and a world-wide laughing stock. When I was living in Phoenix I traveled to the UK and when they heard I was from AZ all they could talk about was Joe; he has done a lot of interviews with the BBC promoting himself as "America's Toughest Sheriff" - big shocker.

Joe has a right to brag. He has cajones and instead of whining about petty garbage he pays attention to important things...like THE LAW.

Irwin doesn't live in Phoenix.

I'm with the majority here who say that we need more Sherrif Joe Arpaios throughout the United States, not the ones who don't have any guts, and worry about being criticized by groups like ACLU, who care more about the rights of criminals than victims.
