No, but there no reason to justify spying on innocent people.

I think some people are so oblivious to whats going on in the goverment, they would give their rights away in a heartbeat.

Hopefully this latest step taken by ole' joe is simply so over-the-top that people will finally wake up to what this hick is doing. But, who knows...people are so lazy sometimes I don't have much confidence. |

However, if the govt wants to spy on me, let em. Ive got nothing to hide. Im glad theyre out there watching out for us. Rather than rely on tips from outsiders, the govt can have direct access and incriminating evidence when they spy. If youve got nothing to hide, who cares? This reminds me of when we lived in TN, we had a neighborhood watch (after several break ins) where residents were encouraged to keep a close eye on each others' property. Some residents even took to driving around in their cars at night, almost like they were on a patrol beat. Theyd pass by the house and look in (if the shades were open), we took this as a good sign. I took no offense to that because it meant they were willing to do whatever it took to ensure the safety of the neighborhood. Of course we'd wave and theyd do a little honk back to say 'hi', and they went on their merry ways if they didnt see anything to be concerned about. I see this on the same level as the govt is doing, theyre dropping in and checking on things, making sure everything is ok. If there is nothing to be suspicious about, they move on, big deal. Like I said, if youve got nothing to hide, dont fret about it. Had I seen a car drive by our house and peek in that I didnt know, Id be calling the cops, but knowing that theyre there to help was reassuring to me. I take the same stance on govt spying. |

If my neighbors were driving around, looking in my blinds, Id be out there in a heartbeat with my 10 guage.
I don't care if I am not doing anything that illegal, it's my privacy that I want protected. It goverment security depended on them putting cameras in all your showers, would you let them? You arent doing anything illegal, but they get to watch you and your family shower, how is that good in any way? I know thats a bit of an extreme example, but it's perfecly legal now, which is insane. |

I'm not doing any thing illegal and it has nothing to do with hiding stuff. I'm not willing to give up my rights so you can feel safe...

You shouldn't have to, and that is the problem! Just because a few people feel that way, doesnt mean we should all have to comply.
