Either position would be consistent, but it seems that the Sheriff and his supporters want to mix the two mutually exclusive positions to suit the Sheriff's needs.
Sounds like you should take up your concerns with "Flash Phil" - the Mayor of Phoenix

The thing is Greatday, I know I do not beat children....

and by his previous actions you should know what type of man the Sheriff is.

Blind support, gotta love it.

Blind support? I don't think so -

Support Arpaio and his department? Absolutely

His "previous actions", tough law enforcement, enforcing the laws, show him to be a good Sheriff, not bad.

Mistakes in any law enforcement agency happen - why is it you do not criticize other departments who are sued more often, have more deaths of suspects in their custody?

Biased perhaps?

I'd have a lot more respect for Sheriff Joe if he'd just shut up and do his job. Unfortunately he's never met a camera or a microphone that he didn't like. After living in the Valley for 10 years I've come to the conclusion that he values reputation and image more than actual results.

Blind support. Enough for you to make false accusations against someone you will never know.

And I do criticize the LAPD...which is where the Joe Show is headed. As for lawsuits, we might be hard pressed to find a department that gets sued more?

The info is on the web and it is staggering...around 610 lawsuits per year.

I voted for him twice around and have just had my fill with this guy. I agree that he is just a publicity hound, he has cost the county millions in lawsuits and I really think that he has crossed the line many times with people that are not necessarily guilty. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a long time, I argued his case for a long time with others...I was a very loyal Pro-Joe guy. But, his act has grown old and I really think he has some very big issues with integrity...or lack of.

I think I voted for him when he first ran in 1992. Under the previous sheriff, the MCSO had badly mishandled the Buddhist Temple murders, so it seemed like a change was in order. Since then, the abuses of power and publicity-seeking behavior have gotten out of control and I've not repeated my mistake.

Was it the Ahwatukee "Waco" style seige that pushed you over the edge ? Maybe that idiotic armored personnel carrier with the 50 cal. machine gun he bought in the wake of 9-11, maybe the the fingerprinting at traffic stops ? I could go on....... Joe needs to go.

Sheriff joe is the equivalent of having the SS in maricopa county. We have lost millions of dollars to his law suits, Ie: scott norwell death (on camera) 8.1 million dollars. We are now being sued by the new times weekly for confirmed violation of the editor's constitutional rights. He arrested 3 firefighters that were on duty, while on camera. and later had to release them due to lack of evidence. He arrests and detains all that oppose him. He gets re-elected by the Retirement villages who he provides sheriff cars for and the volunteers patrol their own neighborhoods. Something to do when your retired, become and MCSO posse member and risk your life for free. Sheriff Joe is a grandstanding egotistical dictator with loads of political support. Its past time for him to move on. Vote against Sheriff Joe in the next election. a vote for elmer fudd is better that a vote for sheriff Joe
