Sheriff Joe is an embarrassment. It's all a bunch of hype so he can get interviewed by Fox News. And while he's hamming it up for the tv, the crime rate here in Phoenix is exploding. Obviously the pink underwear and chain gangs aren't working too well; but he's not concerned with that.

Hey, at least he is trying! Obviously, immigration issues are not a one man job. He is using ingenuity to try and make some sort of head way on a HUGE problem. Arizona citizens should feel grateful.

His tactics are not working. An intelligent person would begin to question the effectiveness of such tactics and consider that maybe one should take another tact. Instead, people in Phoenix cheer the guy on. Kill another guy Sheriff Joe!

Gives you a sense of the type of people who live in Phoenix.

My brother in-law got a DWI and was sent to Sheriff Joe's jail for one week. He said it was so bad and he was so scared that he would NEVER drive after he drank again. DO THE CRIME, DO THE TIME is what I say......

Default At least his is doing his JOB!

Love him or hate him, at least Joe Arpaio is doing his job, which is more than I can say for most of the politicos in AZ.

Go Joe! Doing great work, one criminal at a time. Am sure he will keep up with the ingenuity for the "poor souls" who come into contact with him. He should do consulting for all the other crime ridden states in this country.

What advice would Ole' Joe give other states?

How to kill inmates under your control?
How to torture inmates?
How to lose the county millions of dollars over lawsuits from your antics?
How to drive your crime rate to one of the worst in the country?
How to be condemned by international human rights groups?
How to have European countries refuse to extradite suspects to your jurisdiction because of the Saudi Aradbian conditions and torture?

Yea, he's such a great guy.

He's an embarrassment and the fact that he seems to be so popular here is telling on the kind of people who populate this sprawling wasteland. May can't come soon enough for me!!

Why is it that you are so concerned with how criminals are treated and less concerned with the effects of illegals coming into our country? Millions are lost due to illegal immigration! Sheriff Joes actions are not the reason there is crime in Arizona. I would say ppl coming over hiding in the cracks of the city, taking advantage of hard working Arizona citizens is the MAJOR cause!

Who cares if "international human rights groups" condemn your actions?! He is doing is job! It is really easy to "condemn" someones actions, when your not having to deal with the problem in your backyard! Maybe some of those international human rights groups should come over and help "babysit" the criminals back to there country!!!

These ppl coming across the border illegally are committing a crime. Our troops have willing chose to go to Iraq and live in worse conditions, for our country. I think if they are treated like "guests" at a hotel, they will keep coming back. Punishment sucks, but, that is why it is called punishment. And if he was so bad, the government would have his badge removed
