So after a lot of soul searching I decided it is time to get out of NYC. I have lived here since 1987. It has become too expensive, too humid, too dirty, rats playing amongst themselves at the subway stations, people are rude, jobs in my field of medical imaging, are hard to find. I have been looking at Phoenix for the past year and have decided on the areas of Glendale, Scottsdale or Peoria for a rental. Yes, I know it's hot & dusty, but I am also tired of winter and gray NYC in the winter.
My question to you all is: I commute to work on a 250cc scooter. Not a Vespa, but an Aprilia with bigger wheels. How feasible is it that given the heat I would be able to continue on commuting in Phoenix, without the poor thing dying on me? Thanks ![]() |

I think it would work but you will need to target living close to your job. By close I mean within a 2-5 miles radius...
![]() Any further away and you will get tired of commuting on a bike. The heat is OK on any type of bike. We have folks here that bicycle and motorbike year-round. ![]() |
