You're kidding, of course? What's to check out in Peoria, AZ?
Peoria charges sales tax on grocery food. For a wonderful while there they didn't allow smoking in restaurants, but that is now statewide. Being in Peoria means you are up to an hour closer to Las Vegas and Los Angeles than most of the rest of the Valley. I'm thinking. I really am. Oh yes, at least you wouldn't be in Glendale. |

I think the general consensus is that North Peoria is best. It's probably alot sunnier than Scotland.

Brilliant! Congrats on your move. Now is a good time to move - summer is over and the weather is starting to cool off.
Now, I'm assuming that you will be working somewhere up near Peoria? It is quite a distance to downtown Phoenix and the east side of the valley. |

Hope your move here is a smooth one.

Peoria has great school districts, and a lot better commute into the downtown area than some of the farther outlying areas. Grand Ave. isn't fun, but depending on which side of Peoria, you're relatively close to either the 17 or the 10, or you can figure out the backroads, and wind your way through town - sometimes quicker than the freeway.
There is still a lot of development going on in the newest far north area of Peoria, and there is definitely plenty of retail choices available. Plus, you can take the 101 straight up into the Scottsdale areas, if you're looking for something different. Congratulations on your planned move - if you know what side of Peoria you're settling into, or what you'll be looking for when you get here (kid activities, adult activities, gyms, events, etc. . .) I'm sure you can get a lot of good information here ![]() |

We have a new Irish pub now down on 83rd. My kids say the sheppard pie is fantastic.
