If you are freezing in 82 degrees, you really are going to have fun when you move to Montana!!

The digital thermometer in the courtyard read 80 degrees at 11:00pm and the official downtown temp was 82 degrees at that time. It is supposed to be 76 degrees tonight and tomorrow morning with a high of 98 degrees. I looked at different forcasts and half had no more 100 degree readings for the next 10 days, a quarter had a few very low 100 degree days (102), and weather.com had the warmest temp. of 103 with only 3 days near 100 for the next 10 days...MaxPower123 might be the winner.

I'm confused? Do you mean hits under a 100 for a high for the rest of the season? Or do you mean just a day under a 100, even if it goes back up? It will fall under a 100 but will go back up for awhile. I'll say, if it's for under 100 until next spring it will be Oct. 30th. Halloween usually marks the no more 100's for a couple of months for me. Other wise it will go up and down for awhile until then.
This has been a strange summer though, so hopefully it will arrive earlier this year, I actually hope some of you win, and not me. lol
Can you really go by averages in other states? The monthly forecast calls for just under 100 for the rest of the month except for the 14th. I have never seen an average temp here, nor a forecast that was really right on as far as temps go. The forecast says 99, 98, 97, 98, 99, so I'm betting some of those go to 100, 101, etc. We usually get a heat wave beginning of Oct. or so that everyone can't believe is happening every year that late. ha ha, Do any of you remember those. Right when you think it's gone. It's a little like the snow storms in May or June that you get in the cold county. Then it's all smiles for a couple of months!!!!

Oct. 30th!

Just wanted to know...??? Why do a few people say that 100 degree days last into late October? Was there one year a long time ago when this occurred? I found this information on wunderground.com, weather.com, and abc15.com:
Last year, our last 100 degree day was 9/21 but the last "steady" day of 100s was Sept. 13 if I remember correctly. There were no 100 degrees days last Oct, here is a 10 year breakdown for 100 degree days in October:
2007 - 0;
2006 - 4 (first week in Oct).
2005 - 3 (first week)
2004 - 0
2003 - 6 (first week)
2002 - 0
2001 - 0
2000 - 0
1999 - 1 (first day)
1998 - 0
1997 - 0

I also couldn't find one day in Nov. that had a 100 degree day? Is it a bit of exaggeration and overzealousness? The last day of 100 degrees last year was Sept. 21, the year before was Sept. 25. Those years it which the temperature DID hit 100 in October all occurred in the first week of October and are very abnormal and extremely unusual occurrences. So what gives?

That's funny. I did the same research myself and wondered the same thing. Most people overestimate the heat, I guess.

Heh, that's funny...I always thought in my head that it is late October that the 100s die off, but you guys are right, it's September that we see our last 100s. Halloween last year was 85/62.

You can see monthly charts on Wunderground.com for any month/year you want...scroll to the bottom to see it in monthly calendar view.

We are finally moving down the end of the month and I HOPE there are still 100 degree days. Since Labor Day it has been chilly (60's and 70's for highs), overcast and drizzly most days. Lows in the 40's already. And it's ONLY early September. GET ME OUTTA HERE!!!
