Default OH CRAP! Another Storm just BLEW IN!

So, I had to run out and move my car because a huge dumpster in my friends building complex almost blew into my car. The dust storm is pretty cool! And from the looks of it, rain is moving in! The winds are pretty strong here in downtown.

Apparently, the dust storm is moving through the Valley at 60mph, damaging wind gusts are being reported and huge hail has fallen in the SW Valley. It is headed in a E, NE direction.

Looks like the storm fizzled and died SW of town. Did anyone see the film on CH 12 of the duststorm taken from the News helicopter? They said the dust cloud was 5000 feet high and 60 miles wide!

sh9730 is on a distinguished road
Still blowing pretty good down here in Casa Grande even now - though much less than earlier - Official high wind gust at our airport was 43 MPH. LOTS of dust for a good hour.....looking at radar I dont see much rain behind it now - unless storms pop up in the instability overnite.

However - now that the dust isnt blowing so much, the temperature is 75 degrees - opened my windows for the first time!!!!

My first dust storm, seemed pretty cool. I understand it can be pretty dangerous, but it really doesn't seem like its anywhere near as tough to drive in as a blizzard.

The one thing I never would have thought of that makes sense tho is reminding folks in a dust storm if you pull off the road to turn OFF your lights and keep your foot OFF the brake. So that others dont mistakingly "follow you" if visibility is low by following your lights. Following a PARKED vehicle=major accident potential.

I work in the SW valley and live in N Phoenix. I didn't notice the dust rolling in until I got on I10. It was a pretty crazy experience.

Once I was on the 101 you could see the dust to the north...It was kind of like outrunning it LOL.

As soon as I got in thee house what was left of it came through.

Luckilly I survived my first dust storm experience
