My boyfriend and I are looking to get out of Jersey. We have been talking about Arizona because it seems to have the ideal weather and lots of place to mountian bike. But I am not sure where to start looking. Any suggestions would be a great help.

There's much to consider. While there are spots with ideal weather, they typically have few good jobs and/or very high prices. Many of the nice weather spots are also experiencing very fast growth that puts a strain on infrastructure like schools, roads, and water.
Phoenix has the jobs and relatively lower priced housing, but it also has all the bad things that go with life in a big city. And few would call the weather here ideal. |

If you are interested in living in Az. you will first want to check out the job market and see if you can find employment. It will not do you any good to be trying to eat, live and look for a job all at the same time. Find a job first, then the other problems that come about with the move are less difficult to deal with. Live near where you work, you don’t want to spend all your time driving to and from a job. Traffic is bad and becomes gridlock at times. There are a lot of rental units on the market so you’ll have no trouble there. After you are here for a while you’ll find neighborhoods that you like better and you’ll be able to relocate then.
Job first, check the classified ads in the Arizona Republic news paper. They have an online version, or you can pickup a copy of the Sunday paper in one of your bookstores there or the library. |

I am considering relocated to Arizona. My son is registered in Higley School district, he resides with his father. Can you give me some pointers. I have forwarded resumes to various organizations; however, I have only heard from one prospective employer.

American Express has a large headquarters office there on 31st Ave & Loop 101, just off of I-17, then they have 2 other offices...one down by the Sky Harbor airport, and the second off of I-17 & Peoria Avenue. They are always hiring, especially for their travel dept. and you don't have to have experience. My hubby & I both worked there for a couple of years prior to our move to Nevada. Discover (as in the credit card) has their headquarters off of I-17 & Loop 101, too. They usually had lots of job fairs posted. ...Home Depot is always hiring, too, and they have several locations around the towns. If you are looking to do something from home, check out CPG, Inc., located out in Tempe. They offer a data entry work at home program, where you go to their facility a couple of times a week and pick up/drop off the work. AIG Insurance has a headquarters office in downtown Phoenix and a call center located off of I-17 & Union Hills. I hope this helps!! Good luck on your move!
