Default Cheap motel by the Phoenix airport?

I am interested in the possibility of transferring to a school in Phoenix. I am only going to be in Phoenix for a couple of days to check out the school I am interested in. Does anyone know of a cheap motel within a couple of miles of the airport? I was looking for a Motel 6 or a Super 8, but they all seem to be charging around $65 or $70 per night, which seems surprisingly high. In other parts of the country that I've been to, you can usually find a Motel 6 room for $40 per night (in places like Nevada, Texas, and Florida).

I found this place: http://www.airport-travelinn.com/ off the internet and they seem to be charging $50 per night. Does anyone know of any cheaper motels that are in the vicinity of the airport? I need to stay close to the airport because my flight leaving from Phoenix departs fairly early.

Gents, take a look at biddingfortravel.com, and read the phoenix forum.

You can stay at a very adequate room for 45 a night.

You will be placing a bid on priceline.com, and you can narrow it down to the sky harbor airport area.

I have used priceline a few times with good luck, but was after luxury hotels.

I did go to phoenix twice on business, and did stay at a super8 motel in tempe. It was the nicest super8 I have ever seen, and the prices were very reasonable.
