Default Motels with good weekly rates near Scottsdale / Tempe?

I just arrived in Phoenix for the first time to look at the area, so far it seems nice although my car window was broken as I left my suitcase in the car overnight last night (at a motel in Goodyear), anyways I will be looking around the Scottsdale and Tempe area and I am wondering if anyone knows of any motels in the area that offer good weekly rates. Thanks.

Also, I have to say i like the dry heat, 95 here feels like 80 in California where I am from because of the lower humidity.

I found a Motel 6 Studio in Tempe that is only around $220 per week in case anyone else is the same situation, pretty good deal in my opinion.

People don't understand what dry heat means until they experience it. 90 with low humitity equils awesome.

I don't know why but when you said motel 6 and tempe, i thought scottsdale.

I agree that its awesome, the weather here is a step up from California in some ways, I can see if you're from a cold climate that it would be an adjustment but for someone that already likes weather on the warm side the weather is fine here.

Keep in mind, it is now the fall. I said that too when I first visited in May and then again in early June. 110-115 degrees is MUCH worse than 95 degrees, and also in July and August its not as dry as this and the temperatures are a good 5 degrees warmer with a stronger sun angle. 95 in the sun and in the shade are also two different things.

Right.. but thats the tradeoff for warmer weather year round, in northern California you get a good 3-4 months of "winter weather" where it'll be cold (into the upper 40's in the day sometimes), rain and usually a good amount of overcast skies.. I'd definitely take the tradeoff of 110 days for 3 months with nice weather the rest of the year as opposed to the colder winters. I guess the comparison to So-Cal is more difficult as its milder there year round.

Yeah, but Id still say Northern California over the course of a year has better weather than probably 3/4 of the US. I know there winters are still far preferable to the northeast winters.

Rickca, what part of N. Cal are you from? I'm from Sacramento and the cloud coverage like Seattle grew old for me.

There's a place in South Scottsdale that I once scouted for my parents who were going to build a house in Prescott and needed temp housing. They ended up not needing it, so I don't have any personal knowledge of the place, other than they offer furnished condos with a lot of stuff included in the price (about $900/mo). Click here.

Also look on cragslist under short term and vacation rentals.
