We have plenty of jobs in Nashville, TN and we have a very large illegal population. Don't blame a lack of jobs in a place like Arizona on illegals having all the jobs. I'm sure that there are many jobs availible like digging ditches, working at McDonalds, ect, ect that many in this thread are " too good " for and wouldn't take the job even if they had to, yet will complain if an illegal has that job and will say " We don't have any jobs "

They are breaking the law: say what you want about the war, your view is exactly that, I never said I was pro the war, I simply said, those who are her illegally are breaking the law and you expect us to feed and cloth them plus give them free medical care and other services. I just do not ageee with that. Again, this has nothing to do with the war and how I may or may not feel. I think you are watching too many Michael Moore movies.

Kudos!!! I wish there was a Sheriff Joe in every city, then we wouldn't have half the problems with crime that we have.

Ha ha! Which law is that? The one that says other countries, especially the ones bought off by the Oil for Food bribes, have to like it or we're breaking the law? Darn. I feel like a criminal.

I liked Joe when I first moved here but now I think he's a coward and publicity *****.

A real leader can be tough on crime without pulling a lot of the crap he does, including:
- intimidating the media and withholding public information and access to press conferences and other information in retaliation for unfavorable press coverage
- arresting editors in the middle of the night
- arresting the local leader of the ACLU
- costing taxpayers millions due to lawsuits. Especially accidental death suits where people have died and they've not even been to court.

And I'm not a liberal, nor pro-illegal. I just don't like seeing someone act as though they are above the law. One can be tough on crime without crossing the line on other matters.

Besides, how tough is he to raid a fricking candle factory? Or a place that makes wooden pallets? That shows his true colors. If he was really tough, he'd go after all the illegals in fast food restaurants, or who work at resorts, and could probably shut down most Food City locations in one sweep. But that would **** off the business community, so Mr. tough guy goes after small companies in order to make his headlines.

Who's his next target: Churros vendors? Is he gonna bust up some Quinceaneras for the TV news? He needs to go, but the blue hairs in this state are enamored.

Are the illegals at the candle factory somehow less illegal than the ones in the restaurants? Besides, wasn't that one a matter of identity theft in addition to going after illegals? Bottom line is that he's doing what no one else in government has the stones to do and he has to start somewhere. Would you rather he start out with a high profile business that might fight back? Or would you call it being a media ***** by doing so? More power to Sheriff Joe.

The reason why people don't want to do those jobs is that they pay sub-poverty wages for hard work. Those low wages are largely due to illegal immigrants who will work for next to nothing. If you remove the illegals, the laws of supply and demand will cause unskilled labor wages to increase to the point that the jobs become attractive to Americans.
