Nita, I have thought that also. I know some people think he's a media w____ but I have nothing but respect for him. He does what everyone else is afraid to do. He stands up for what is right reagrdless of whether it is politically correct. The illegal problem is huge and is taking its toll on taxpayers. Go Sherriff Joe!

They talk about the boy who does not have a father. What about the persons who identity has been stolen? I had my identity stolen once, and got a tax bill for what they did not claim in taxes. The irs does not care , they want the money anyway. Not to mention a warrant in my name for peeing in on the side of the road .That one I was able to prove because I lived in another state at the time. Still I sat in jail for the weekend because an illegal stole my identity. It really angers me.

While I don't support illegals being in this country I also don't support raids such as these. I don't see how any American that values their individual rights as an American can? These raids go against the moral fabric of a free democracy.

First you have the "Patriot Act", DUI checkpoints, then raids like these...that's how it starts...next "true" Americans are being stopped, frisked, questioned for no apparent reason...homes are being searched - no need for search warrants anymore...computer chips are implanted to track your every move...

It's all very subtle...do you want to live in a "US" like the above? If you support these raids you support a non-American way of life...

I hear ya Amatrine. People will argue that raids such as these break up families and cause people to be separated etc. Criminal actions, such as being in this country illegally, have consequences. They should have thought about the consequences of their actions before they hopped the border.

Sheriff Joe has my vote.
