Anthem Merrill Ranch (Phoenix, Gilbert, Flagstaff: homes, to buy, construction)

We are thinking of moving out to Anthem Merrill Ranch. We have children and I am planning on staying home with them. Please let me know any information you can.

There are many previous posts on Anthem Merrill. Try to search for them.

I almost bought there, but still a little too far out of town for me, even though I work at home. I decided the little extra money (but not much) was worth it to buy in Casa Grande since the infrastructure (a lot of it at least) is already in place here. Plus the close proximity of two freeways played a part.

Eventually Anthem Merrill will likely be a very nice place...the clubhouse and homes already are....but just not quite enough stuff around just yet.

They do have a grocery store now though....

I love Anthem and hope it never grows or changes. I live five miles south of it and do all my errands there.

Rick, you sure you are talking about the Anthem Merrill Ranch near Florence? Not alot of places to do "errands" there! You might be talking about the original Anthem north of Phoenix?

Ah, ok. I thought that was a gated community within Anthem. I live by the Anthem in 85086, I-17 north, basically south Flagstaff.

It would be greatly appreciated if anybody who currently lives in Anthem Merrill Ranch or has lived there could give me the good, bad and ugly. Before we purchase there I would like to know anything I can about the community. Thank you so much.

It is about 30 minutes south of SOUTH Gilbert. So if you are looking to go out, you are looking at a probable drive of 45-90 minutes each way....just sayin'

Not to mention that horrendous drive up the Hunt Hwy! Yikes!

I think Anthem Merrill Ranch is a great place to live for families. There is so much to do there for kids (and adults) of all ages. They have a huge recreation center similar to the Anthem up north with a gym, rock wall, game room, pool and waterpark. The amenities themselves are pretty amazing, but all of the events they hold there are so nice as well so you can meet your neighbors and people who live there that have kids the same age as yours etc. They have activities and events planned every month for kids and adults, ranging from dance classes, swim lessons, block parties and outdoor music concerts (to name a few). Since the community is fairly new, there isn't too much there by way of retail sotres and such, but the potential for growth there in the coming years will be huge. The Safeway is open there now, and they are going to begin construction on a new hospital there too.

Have you actually gone out to see the community for yourself yet?
