Default Relocating from the UK?

I currently live in the UK and I would LOVE to Live/Work in the Phoenix area.

But I don't know how to get started.

What kind of jobs can I apply for? Can I own a business? Get a loan for a business? etc.

I need help because I am pretty much clueless.

Moving to any nation to work is tough.
You need a work visa; But in most nations you can't get that without a sponsor - which is usually an employer.. However, it's hard to find a job unless you're already living in the location.

You can apply for any job you like; granted you're certified in the States if it's a specially skilled trade.
Can you own a business? I'm pretty sure you can. If you can own any kind of property here, a business shouldn't be any different.

Getting a loan as a foreigner may be extremely difficult. I'm not even sure it's possible. Even moreso with the economy the way it is. It might be best to talk to a bank at home in the UK about getting a loan, and telling them your plans and circumstances.

It can be done.. It'll just take a lot of work.

Better marry a U.S. citizen or find someone in the UK who can line up an H-1B sponsor for you in the U.S. It ain't easy. Actually, the easiest way to do it is to come as a student on an F-1 visa. After graduation you get one year to find a sponsor. Though they don't grow on trees around here unless you have some very special skills.
