Oh please, LOL!

I doubt you'll be able to just go out and enjoy the great weather YEAR round where ever you move. You'll just be changing your misery factor from heat to cold. 3 months of heat for 4-8 months of cold depending on where or how far north you go. I doubt you'll be out in the winter with little preparation or enjoying a bike ride on black ice.

I've found that when it is hot and you wear light colored clothing, you will feel better because the heat does not get sucked in. White is a very good color to wear on hot days. And also, make sure to not sit in a black car as the heat will be in the car and you will suffer.

lol! Yikes. Good thing the ocean is cool, oh wait..

I gotta say dealing with 110 without sun isn't that bad. I suppose it is the sweating all the time that gets annoying.

Now 110 with sun i can't stand. Imagine someone slapping you once an hour wherever the sun hits your skin, that is what it feels to me.

To answer someone who asks, how can I deal with the heat while living in the middle of the desert, there is no other answer than "stay wet" or "get used to it" AND don't forget your sunblock.

If thats not good enough, you're probably in the wrong place.
The optimum ambient temperature for most human beings is about 70-75F. Read that 30-35F (40F daytime high) lower would be Wash DC in the dead of winter whereas 30-35F (105F daytime high) warmer would be right here in Phx albeit with relatively low humidity. Note it gets colder in DC sometimes and hotter here but, I am looking at averages

And many places run much colder than DC (Chicago) whereas few places are hotter than Phx (Bullhead City). Needless to say: I would still deal with BHC's brutal summer temps over Chitown's evil winters.

The lack of humidity really does make a difference. I moved to PHX in the middle of February from Minnesota and lived there the entire summer and I loved the heat. It really isn't as unbearable as it's made out to be by some, not that it isn't hot though.

3 months of heat? 6 is more like it. May - Oct.
I must say I spend much more time outside in Wisconsin in the winter than I do in Arizona in the summer. At least I can put more clothes on when it's cold. I guess our Wisconsin home being in the country makes a difference too.

I agree with you on that. Some winter days are worse than others, just like some summer days are worse than others. I can enjoy being outside and getting cold and wet in the snow, and then enjoy the relaxation of warming up and winding down. I am not real fond of panting and being covered in stinky sweat and sitting and waiting for the effects of A/C to kick in.

And as a human, I can rationalize the winter time in a 4 season climate as just a season and before I know it, its going to be spring time again. The difference here is that summer overpowers every other season and lasts more like 2 seasons instead of one.

No place is year round, of course, but it continues to amaze me that in order to make light of Phoenix heat, you have to bring Dubai into the picture? Whats that got to do with anything.

You know how you can make Phx heat seem frigid? How about comparing it against the surface of the sun? Now there ya go!! A cool and beautiful 115*, enjoy!

May, Sept, and Oct are not hot at all to me. They are the warm months, LOL! I just wear shorts, tshirts, and flip flops and jump into some water, a pool, etc when I feel like it. Now, the 4-8 months of winter is not so easy to escape. You can layer up all you want, but you still won't last long standing outside. You can stand out in the heat all day with some natural shade and water; that can't really be done to escape the cold.

It's really not that bad...just drink plenty of water and stand in the shade if you're too hot...or better yet go inside and sulk in the lovely Air Conditioning

This is paradise compared to most areas.
120/90%? I have a hard time believing that happens.
