Needing Renters expertise....moving to Chandler from Canada (Tempe: gated, vacation)

Hi,
I am moving to Chandler from Canada in Oct and have to rent a one bedroom apt site unseen. I was told about a place called Chandler Court Apt., it's 3800 W Chandler Blvd.

Has anyone rented from them recently?? or have any buzz on the place. I am needing to know if it is a safe area and a good place to live.

Is the city easy to get around in or does a person need a car??

I could really use any input any of you may have about this particular apt. It would be greatly appreciated.

Or is there somewhere else you would suggest. As I am all ears...

Well google says they are located near McClintock & Chandler Blvd. Not a bad area so you should be fine. The only bus friendly city in the Valley is Tempe. So dont expect much living in Chandler.

Do you really "have" to rent sight unseen? I mean, does someone have a gun to your head? What if you tried a furnished sublet or vacation rental for a month or two first?

Not gated, and a little dated. Unless you're getting a good deal on the rent $, there are better places.
