Has anyone had any experience with Meritage Homes??

In general, or specifically Mission Royale(single family NOT 55+) in Casa Grande.

We are looking at the Presidio and Tubac models.

Thanks

Other than my looking at that development in my housing search I cant offer any info on Meritage. But I really liked that community!! They just didnt have any specs available to my liking at the time and I needed to buy right away.

Everything is soooo close to that neighborhood - Mall, freeway, all of the stuff on Florence Blvd....

Wish they would have had something for me at the time...!

I closed on a new meritage home in april. They were easy to deal with and built the same as every other tract home (finger jointed lumber, cheap light fixtures etc). I suggest you not upgrading anything through their design center. their prices are outrageous.

that being said, I would buy another one. its as quality as your going to get in a tract development.

How do you like living in Casa Grande? I was visiting the community in Sept 2008 and seriously considering purchasing a winter home there. How are the people in the community? We noticed a rough smell drifting in from the west. How often does that occur?

HI,

Here is the web site for Home Builders - Homebuilders - Residential Home Builders

They are not on the list but it is a good resource since you are looking at new homes. Also, there is a web link for AZ Registrar of Contractors which be a great source for you.

Stephen

Nope.

But I do know that Meritage CEO Steve Hilton was a financial sponsor of Prop 202, the sham initiative that Arizonans thankfully rejected yesterday that would have weakened our state's laws against hiring illegal aliens.

So, he has spent a great deal of money on both the initiative process and in the courts to make it easier to hire illegal aliens. You can draw your own conclusions as to what that means about Meritage's construction quality.
