"I have ignored several tickets and haven't had any repercussions yet.....BUT i'm still crossing my fingers. It has been over 6 months on some of them, but I just got 2 last week b/c they put up new camera right by my house. I really am a safe driver and I'm all for driving the speed limit..."
Huh? Am I reading this wrong?

I'd have no problem ignoring the process servers. I never answer my front door and can see who's in front of it from other rooms in the house. I know when I'm getting packages I need to sign for and I know when I have guests arriving. Otherwise, I don't want to talk to anyone else. I really hate having strangers knock on my door, so I just don't answer it.
Now, do the photos have to have a clear view of the driver's face in order to get mailed? How does it work with motorcyclists who have on a full face helmet with tinted visor down?

I heard they are now contracting with FedEx for process serving. You answer the door thinking it's a delivery and BAM - you're nailed.

I still don't answer the door for them. I know when I have a package coming. I know the times they make deliveries and follow tracking numbers to know when to expect the package. I don't sign for anything I'm not expecting and I can't remember the last time I received something I wasn't waiting for. I also don't go sign for certified letters. But I also don't expect to get a photo radar ticket. I speed with a clear conscience and use other countermeasures.

OK, how about if they come up in a truck that says "Publishers Clearing House" and a guy in an Ed McMahon mask rings the bell? That'd get ya. N'est-ce pas?

Nope. The only way they could get me is by making girl scouts selling cookies try to serve me. I can't remember the last time they came to my door, but I can't say no to them in front of the grocery store. At home I really don't like being bothered by any adult I'm not expecting or don't know.

Not too long ago I read that the process servers get paid very little money and they make up for that in volume. So if there is someone in your front yard working, they won't take the time to knock at your door, they'll leave it with that person in your yard, and you are considered served. I also read that they are leaving it at your front door and considering you served.
Who is to know that they did not hand it directly to you? It's your word agains the process server. Not fair? But how can you fight it? The judge will believe the process server.
Now if you don't appear after the process server reports that he served the summons, there is a warrant issued for your arrest. If you ever get stopped for a traffic violation, then you're going to jail, and your car will be towed.
Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort.
I suspect there are many people out there who think they are getting away with not responding, and are not aware that there is a warrant for their arrest. They just haven't gotten stopped yet.
Recently I received a photo radar ticket because I didn't see the change from 45 to 35 speed limit and that's where the vans like to park. I'm debating whether to go to court to plead my case, or use one of the other options. The ticket has me going 47 mph in the 35 mph zone.

The vans are nothing. My detector picks them up easily. It's the non-radar-using cameras I'm worried about. I'm also worried about being picked up in the photo that someone else triggered.
