Default Dunkin Donuts plans 150 new store for PHX

Dunkin' Donuts plans 150 new stores in Phoenix - Boston Business Journal:

Quote:
Upwards of 150 new Dunkin' Donuts stores will open in Phoenix over the next few years, the company said Thursday.
The Canton, Mass.-based retailer signed on three multi-unit store development agreements with InterOcean Coffee Company LLC (72 units); First Cup LLC (63 units), and Olympic Fields Associates LLC (15 units).
Plans include opening 18 of the new restaurants by the end of 2008 with the remaining balance to open over the next several years, Dunkin' Donuts said in a statement.
The combination of the agreements officially sells out Phoenix for future franchise development, Dunkin officials said.
In addition to opening new restaurants in Phoenix, the franchisees have also purchased existing Phoenix Dunkin' Donuts restaurants, which are currently being remodeled and will open later this summer.
"To fulfill our national expansion goals, Dunkin' Donuts is looking for multi-unit franchisees like InterOcean Coffee Company, First Cup, and Olympic Fields Associates that operate a strong organization, and have the ability to manage a portfolio of units successfully," said Lynette McKee, vice president of franchising, Dunkin' Brands Inc., in the statement. "We also look for prior restaurant operations and real estate development experience."
The growth in Phoenix and other markets is a direct result of the company's aggressive national expansion plans announced last year, it said.
Dunkin' Donuts has more than 7,200 franchised restaurants in 30 countries worldwide.

Does anyone have a list of the locations? I'm a huge fan of DD coffee, and would really enjoy one close to home or work so i can get my caffeine jolt in the morning

kelcan05 is on a distinguished road
Thats the one and only thing I miss about Illinois, we had a DD around every corner. I was a daily customer, sometimes more than once a day. I have been emailing the company suggesting some areas around my house that are developing where a dunkin donuts would fit in perfectly. Hopefully they listen. Gotta have Dunkin!

I would be surprised to see anywhere near 150 new DD stores open in the Phoenix area, even over several years. I am sure that some new locations will open, but the economic environment seems like a bad fit for rapid expansion. A Coffee Bean that I used to go to closed down a few months ago, and Starbucks has indicated that it expects to close more outlets. DD loyalists will be happy, and maybe I will stop in for a jumbo coffee. But those fluorescent lights at some (all?) locations will ensure that my visit is brief, unlike the coffee shops where I buy a couple of drinks, surf the web, meet up with folks, etc.

Smile Boy that is great news for the job market

That is great for Phoenix. Now we can get jobs at Dunkin Donuts as well as Wal mart and Home Depot. Thanks for the great news.

Smart, Phoenix is giving away land for business right now, I'm sure they got a spankin deal. Any jobs right now are worth it. People once eating at D.D.s are now going to be working there for a second job.
Beats Wal-Mart. lol

I agree, twiggy . . . SMART.

Also, more DD's should help to entice more COPS to the area.

I never said that it was a permanent condition.

It will, however, last several years.
