I live in Phoenix and it isn't that bad. Geez, I don't mind the heat during the summer what discusts me is that it doesn't cool down during the night for about 6 months of the year. If it cooled down during the night I wouldn't complain.
The weather is incredibly extreme..
But then again millions of people live here. If you have air conditioning in the house, car, office, and any other places you can think off you can survive. LMAO
But yes, Phoenix weather is extreme I understand.

After living in both Bullhead City as well as Lake Havasu City...............Phx weather is not that rough. The two Colorado River towns are what I would term dangerously hot in the summer.

I don't have to wait for any particular season to enjoy the "ideal" and "magical". I can enjoy it every single day in AZ! If I desire to play in the snow during the winter it's just a short drive up a mountain, the key word being "desire". Although, I much prefer looking at it from a distance when it snows over the mountains and still remains sunny over my head.
90's during the day this late in the year is fantastic
No need for AC or the furnace! Can't beat that!
You also can't beat wearing shorts and grilling for Christmas!
For those of you who think AZ is a brown wasteland, feast your eyes

That's a great post...it's not like people should have no idea that it's going to be hot in parts of Arizona...
We Texans are in the same boat...I just can't believe how many people move here not realizing that IT'S HOT AND HUMID...derrrrr....
sorry...I'll get off my soap box now!!!

Why believe an opinion from someone who lives in an area for 18yrs and has hated it? More than likely there are other things going on. Alot of people move here for the cheaper housing only to find they can`t get the good paying jobs like they were used to. Then they try to maintain their lifestyle with credit cards and payday loans and wind up filing bankruptcy. With the nice weather we have here it allows for an outdoor lifestyle that costs money. Too many people wind up unhappy chasing things they don`t need with money they don`t have. If you move here, work hard and practice self control you will be able to afford and make a good life for yourself. If you don`t you`ll be looking to get out and can always blame it on the weather.

Exactly...**** happens. Circumstances change. I don't understand why some people in here take it so personal because someone else doesn't like living here. By standards of say, AZnative4Life, I should not be allowed to say I don't like it, or I want to leave? Wot up with that?
For the record, I am only staying here because I can't get my house sold--the minute escrow closes I'm on the Greyhound. Circumstances changed, I want to leave. I can't leave because I bought property--I paid RE taxes for 12 years to the State of Arizona. I am sounding irrational--never mind.

Try and be happy now where you are, it will be easier for you to be happy where you are going. If you have a good job and a happy healthy life the weather will not be important.

No, it's an idiotic post, if you have any understanding at all of the economic fundamentals of Phoenix. Over 30% of the Valley's economy is comprised of the real estate and construction industries- in other words, growth. If people just stopped moving to Phoenix from other parts of the country, or if the population growth rate ever went negative, the entire Valley would be in a depression and EVERYONE in Phoenix would be pretty unhappy. And never mind the economic boost the city gets from such newcomers and snowbirds spending money on local tourist attractions, resorts, restaurants, etc. Look at what the economy is like in Phoenix right now, with the current housing/real estate crisis and nationwide economic slowdown- it isn't pretty. I find it rather amusing that the very thing these 'natives" bi**# and complain about, the influx of newcomers from colder climes who might or might not like extreme heat, is the very thing that the city's become entirely dependent upon for economic vitality. Careful what you wish for.

Hmm, wonder if this is targeted at me?! LMAO
Well, my wife and I are in our low 40's and have been retired for a couple years already...we have zero debt, our cars and fully custom home which we built are completely paid off...we have a lot of coin in cash flow generating avenues...so you were completely wrong...at least about me.
The weather is my real b*tch and I have stated I liked it OK for the first few years and I have never denied AZ has been very good to me financially speaking as I'm a pretty smart guy and have taken advantage of numerous opportunities provided...not the least of which was a Scottsdale home that we sold for many times what we paid for it...so no complaints on that side.
I will add some specifics to the generally lower educated service dominated workforce employed here in AZ...as a highly educated technical person this state just does not have a large and interesting base of technology driven companies that get my attention...it is what it is ...this state pretty much gets ZERO venture capital dollars for tech companies...not a whole lot of talent here in that area to acquire those dollars so the economy bores me...hence a big reason I sold my company and am attempting to move on.
