Hello again,

I have received much helpful information on this website and I hope I've given the same on the South Dakota page as well.

My question NOW is, I hear that to drive to work in Phoenix from the East Valley i.e. Gilbert, Queen Creek, etc.. is going to be about an hour each way. Google Maps tells me that it takes a little over an hour to drive from East Valley to Miami/Globe. I never believe the times that Google Maps gives for travel. Do you think it would be similar time spent in transit from Gilbert, Queen Creek, etc... to Miami/Globe?

I ask because I have been offered a job in Miami/Globe that will pay well (not mining) that would basically be a stepping-stone for me. My fiancee has a masters in speech communications and would probably be looking to teach at a college in the area (hence not wanting to live in Globe). We are also aged 25-26 with no kids yet, but someday, and would like to be close to some form of entertainment. Thanks all, in advance!

Yeah it should be right about the same. Most people are headed westbound from the east valley for work every morning. So the roads should be clear, just be careful of that speed trap coming back from Globe into the valley.

Gilbert and Queen Creek areas are very large...so, I would say it would totally depend on where you would be in these locations. Being close to the freeway would make a huge difference in commute time. You might want to consider Gold Canyon too. It's beautiful! Not really geared for young people, but if you'd be renting, it might be okay.

Thank you both! I'm sure we'll be renting for at least a while. From what I see online there is not much right now in the line of rentals (a few nice looking "buys" online) in the immediate Globe area.

I want scorpions, desert, mountains, and all that comes with it!! Bye bye cold and flat, it's been good, but time for a change!!!

East Mesa would be perfect. There are new homes off signal butte. My friend just moved there...about 40 minutes to phx going west and 40 minutes to globe going east.
