Default How is Rt. 60 between Wickenburg and Quartzsite?

I live right off Carefree Hwy. and am riding to LA on Wed. I'd really prefer to not deal with 17, 101 or any more of 10 than I have to. How is 60? I know 74 to Wickenburg is a nice route and road surface.

It's a great little road. No problems at all. You do go through a couple of little towns; Wendon comes to mind.

Great. That's encouraging. How are the police radar traps and truck traffic? Is the road surface ok? I think there is way too much debris on I-10 and don't like it.

Bear in mind this was a year ago, and we were in the family car. So while I wasn't paying all that close attention to surface conditions, my recollection is that it was fine. I don't recall an abundance of trucks. Certainly nothing that slowed us down. We didn't see any radar traps. Keep it within +10 of the speed limit and you'll be fine.

I think you'll find this is a very different road then I-10. Nice and quiet. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts after you've ridden it.

OneWayStreet is on a distinguished road
Not a bad road to drive on, mostly 2 lanes IIRC. Lots of cool scenery to look at.

Road surface wasn't too bad, never encountered radar, or a police car the entire drive.

EDIT; come to think of it, there wasn't much traffic on that road.

I have driven that road; it is a bit desolate in places...............at least the weather is no longer hot.

Otherwise Rte 60 is as the others described it.

Ok, I'm doing it. Can't wait! Thanks. I'm coming back from Sacramento next week and am wondering if I should pick up 40 near Bakersfield and come in via Flagstaff or if there's another cool back road like 60 than will not cost too much more time.

I have homes in Bakersfield and Phoenix. I travel back and forth regularly, The only way that won't take you a LOT more time is down I5 to the 210 and then I10 into Phoenix.
