Question about commute from Chandler to St. Joseph's
Hello, I am going to be moving to the Phoenix area at the start of the year and I am looking at houses in Chandler and North Peoria. I will be working at St. Joseph's and wanted to get a rough idea about what the commute might be like from those locations.

pending on how far NW you are going in N. Peoria it could turn into quite a hike
I work near St. Joes and used to commute from the arrowhead area and currently commute in from Goodyear
We have people from Chandler and it takes them a fair amount of time - would you be working "business hours"

My hours will be somewhat flexible, but would be during normal business hours (I can arrive early and leave early or vice-versa). How long is a fair amount of time? My current commute outside Philly is 45 minutes to go 10 miles.

you'd be looking at more miles and more time
i know the people here who work in chandler have a normal commute of 60-90 minutes
i really couldn't say from peoria anymore - it used to take me 40-60 minutes to get in from the arrowhead area depending on the time of year - that was about 4 years now so i'm sure things have changed

Any suggestions on areas with a shorter commute to St. Joseph's? We are looking for a nice family neighborhood with good schools but not outrageously priced.

maybe N. phoenix/deer valley or the eastern edges of the arrowhead area
say around the loop 101 from 67th ave through tatum - moving N or S of the highway depending on where you were

Try looking in NE Phx, up near the 51 freeway (east of 51) and Around Shea and north of there. It's nicer the more east you head.
What price range are you looking at?
I wouldn't want to commute too much from N. Peoria. I used to live near 83rd ave and Breadsley and commute to central phx and I eventually moved a little closer. Also, try Arrowhead Ranch, though it's just a couple of miles from where I was living. However, AR is really nice.
You could also try up off of Happy Valley Rd (east or west of the I-17). It's still a 45 min drive (if you leave at a normal traffic time). I leave a tad later at 8:40a and it's a breeze - more like 25-30 mins. Great little area to live.
