Default Anyone know of any Greek Supermarkets in the Valley!?!

I'm looking for a place in the valley that may sell Greek Yogurt, honey, Ouzo....
Anyone know of any?
Also, anyone know of a Greek restruant that's a hidden gem? Even if it's a hole in the wall (sometimes they ARE the best places), nothing like My Big Fat Greek Restruant.

Thx!

From what I have seen, most of the so-called greek restaurants are not that authentic, similar to My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. Perhaps the one in Desert Ridge Mall is about the same but it might actually be a bit less Americanized.

As far as the markets go, I have never seen any in Phoenix or even in So Cal. Your best bet is either one of those International Markets, a MiddleEastern market or a real authentic Greek restaurant who might also be selling the products they purchased for themselves (or order through them as some ethnic restaurants in So Cal used to do that).

Trader Joe's sells their own brand of Greek yogurt as well as Fage Greek yogurt. There are other brands there too, but I have only bought the two already mentioned.

Greek supermarkets are rare, but I can think of several Middle Eastern markets that sell many of the ingredients you have mentioned:

Baiz Market -- 20th St just north of Van Buren, Central Phoenix
Haji-Baba -- Apache b/w Dorsey & McClintock, Tempe
Middle Eastern Bakery & Deli -- 16th St. just south of Osborn, Central Phoenix
Yusef's -- Cave Creek Rd. just south of Greenway, North Phoenix
Cafe Istanbul -- Apache & Dorsey, Tempe
Salam's Market -- next to the Islamic Center on Forest St. in Tempe

Also, as mentioned above, Trader Joe's is a very good source for Greek yogurt.

I'd suggest you go to this restaurant called The Bacchanal down around 28th street and Thomas in Phoenix. They have belly dancers and throw plates. I am sure someone there can point you in the direction of a great Greek store. It's actually 3015 E. Thomas. You can google on it and see the menus along with watching videos of the belly dancers.
