Hi! do you guys know what the average rent is in Paradise valley for a 3 or 4 bdr? There was only one listing on apartments.com and it was a house going for $8000 a month! I'm hoping that was a typo.

Also I will be looking for a good elementary school for my little ones. Any info would be much appreciated.

This price would not surprise me at all for PV. It is one of the most expensive areas in the valley.

Not a typo. Paradise Valley is very expensive. Homes (to buy) can range up to many many millions of dollars.

Yeah, PV is a TOWN and VERY expensive. Looking at your other postings and questions, you do want NE Phx, near the PV MAll, NOT the Town of PV. BIG difference!!!! Many make this mistake.

just to remind everybody.......

the incorporated (in 1961) Town of Paradise Valley has about 12K people, is almost exclusively residential (though that has changed a bit lately from totally residential years ago), lies between Phx and Scottsdale, and is pretty much the ultimate mailing address in Az....most lots are an acre or more and most houses are valued at more than about $800K...up to $20M +....the lowest priced houses are smaller 50s-style ranchers ready for teardown...value is in the land only.....

the geographical Paradise Valley is that very large area of NE Phoenix N of Shea, W of about 64th St, E of Cave Creek Rd/32nd St and S of Bell - approximately....PVHS is in the PV school district (Phx city limits), while T of PV kids go to Scottsdale schools in that school district....many businesses cite that they are in "Paradise Valley" when they are actually in this geographical area of Phx....does help a bit to zero in on the location rather than saying "Phoenix"...PV Mall is often cited as the "hub" of geographical PV....

and, to complicate it even more, areas east of Tatum (zip 85254) in "PV", get to use the coveted Scottsdale mailing address.....

and, for the history buffs out there, Paradise Valley was originally named that back in the late 1800s/early 1900s by a land promoter who tried building an irrigation canal from the Verde River to what is now the Westworld area and further west...they wanted to make the desert bloom into a "paradise".....parts of this canal are still visible just N of Westworld as a low earthen berm with relatively heavy vegetation....gotta look around and use your wits!!.....write if you want better directions

When I was a kid, anything north of Camelback Road to the east, Sunnyslope at the center was called Paradise Valley. Deer Valley was to the northwest. After the town was formed, they banned businesses and apartments. Now that is a way to preserve a city. The only other place I know of similar is San Marino in California that has a few stores but in only one location on Huntington Drive.

Interesting. San Marino is very nice. I do remember that one little strip of stores on Huntington.
