My husband and I are moving out here (most likely) from NJ and have narrowed it down to Buckeye & Queen Creek based on new home prices. We understand commutes stink, but living in NJ, we are used to traffic.
I feel more comfortable closer to major highways so I've heard Buckeye is a better bet for that reason. We have no kids yet but plan on it in a year or two. So schools aren't a major factor. I know it is hard to guess which town will have better resale values in 3-5 years but if you had to guess, which one would be better? Thanks!! ![]() |

Off the soapbox now, I don't think it makes much difference for appreciation which place you choose, or for schools etc. Traffic is going to be better now and in the future from Buckeye though. It really helps to have a major interstate highway disecting your city. Shopping etc is already better in Buckeye because is close to boomtown Goodyear, which has it all plus a new regional mall in the next couple year. By the way, there are new homes in Goodyear and Avondale that are priced as competitively as they are in Buckeye. And you would save maybe 30 miles a day off (45 -60 minutes, a couple gallons of gas, a set of tires every couple years etc) a typical commute. |

The current resale market in Queen Creek is terrible, and I don't see it getting better any time soon b/c of the tremendous amount of residential building going on now. Maybe 10 or 15 yrs from now, when they have more infrastructure to make it more appealing, and less builders to compete with, it'll be a different story, but who can tell for sure...
Queen Creek is right next to Gilbert, where two new, high end malls are being built. And Gilbert is a really nice city with many amenities. So you'd be *relatively* close to those. Other then being close to Gilbert, I don't know that Queen Creek is very competitive in the commercial department. Not sure about Buckeye. I'm an East Valley Phoenician ![]() |

Hello New Jersey, I moved to Buckeye from San Diego 3 yrs ago, Buckeye is definitley the city with the brightest future, it's growing really fast and it's right next to Goodyear which is an awsome city as well. Look into west park its close to the freeway , I work in Goodyear and it takes me 20 to 30 minutes to get to work depending on traffic , with no traffic 15 minutes. I don't like Sundance area but there's alot of building going on everywhere. Goodluck!

Hi, Buckeye is the place to buy, fast growing , I moved here from San Diego and did lots of research before. It's proven to be fast growing in just three yrs ive been here. I like the west side best. Plus youre close to San Diego which is 5 hours away mini vacation! West Park is great, dont care for Sundance area much. West Park is right off the freeway I-10. If you live here in Buckeye theres no need to go to Phoenix, avondale and goodyear have everything you need. Lots of new shopping opening in October and always new ones being built , also new spring training baseball parks being built .
