I wonder if the night life would get old after a while. Do LV residents actually go down to the strip that often? I also suspect you have to deal with relatives coming to visit if you live in Vegas. That is bad enough in Phoenix. I spent my first few years' vacations here carting relatives to the Grand Canyon.

I can assure you - "Locals" (residents) avoid the Strip as much as possible.

Then again, there are a lot of off strip properties, on all sides of town, with great food, entertainment, gaming that makes going to the Strip unnecessary.

I would never choose Vegas over Phoenix. Even my sister who does live in Vegas is trying to relocate to Phoenix.

And she told me as another poster mentioned locals avoid the strip unless they have guests in town. If they feel the need to gamble, they go to one of the neighborhood casinos. She lives somewhere near Aliante that just opened around Thanksgiving.

And Vegas is um just about as hot as Phoenix in the summer with an added not-bonus of the wind. Tho they do get quite a bit colder in the winter-which is a deal killer for me.

Less traffic? Where? Not anywhere I saw in Vegas. Vegas is an even more vast concrete paved abyss than Phoenix. No thanks.

I am not all that familiar with zip codes in Phoenix, but the couple on your list that I checked are definitely not the more affluent parts of town.

I LOVE Reno! The Reno/Tahoe area is absolutely gorgeous, and the Summers are spectacular.

The average Summer day in Reno is 94 high/55 low, and the humidity was nonexistent; at least it was while I lived there in the late 80s.

Ah - 86016 includes Arcadia and Camelback Mountain

And "Las Vegas" is the entire area - the Strip is not in Las Vegas for instance

Remember - I live in LV also - Summerlin - the Trails
