I'm looking to relocate to the Chandler area from the Twin Cities sometime in June and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this as far as adjusting is concerned.

Also how is the job and renting situation out there for a 20 something?
Thanks for any help.

I moved here from Minnesota as well and you're certainly picking a difficult time of year to move here since it will be in the 100s by June. By far, the extreme heat and dry air was the toughest thing to adjust to for me. Finding a place to live won't be a problem as there are plenty of apartment complexes and houses for rent. You definitely want to do your research before you come down here because there are areas you'll want to avoid for safely reasons, but even so, there are plenty of safe areas to live. The job market, as with the rest of the country, is in a downturn, so be aware of that. I would not move here without a job secured first since, as I said, you will not have an issue finding a place to live. You will absolutely need to have a car to live here though. Public transportation is horrible and not practical if you want to get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. Also, traffic is very heavy so living near your workplace is ideal.

Thank you for the reply, I enjoy the dry heat so that will not be a problem. Also thanks for the heads up concerning transportation, that info will definitely come in use.

We just moved here last June from the Twin Cities as well (Coon Rapids specifically). The first summer is the worst, although to be honest it didn't really seem that bad compared to a hot muggy evening in the Twin Cities.

Traffic here is worse during the winter..... I definitely notice a difference in my commute time since fall.....

I love Coon Rapids, not very far from here. I'd take 100+ degrees over 80 and muggy any day.

You love Coon Rapids? I've never heard that one before. I've been there a few times, not my cup of tea.

I can understand that. I grew up in the Central Hillside neighborhood of Duluth, and now that's a completely undesireable place to live. I do remember the good days, though.
