What are the best public high schools in the suburban Phoenix area?

Thanks.

Chandler's Hamilton High School was ranked one of the U.S.'s best high schools. Overall though, schools out here rank low when compared nationwide. Hamilton has the benefit of being in the affluent area of Chandler.

Tempe Preparatory is the best in the state, along with University High in Tucson. Chandler Prep, Veritas Prep--the Great Hearts Academy schools are very impressive. I've visited several in the last few months, and spoke to dozens of parents and educators. Kids have to wear uniforms, and if they work hard and enjoy learning, they will get some of the best education the the state has to offer.

Most of the schools in the Tempe Union High School District (especially Corona del Sol, Mountain Pointe and Desert Vista) are decent as far as public education is concerned. The Chandler schools are probably the best, though.

The problem with TUHSD is that its not unified K-12, which means your freshman year is spent trying to get up to speed with everything you should've been taught in eighth grade in either the Kyrene School District or Tempe Elementary...That alone was the reason I voted yes on the school district unification proposition in last November's election.
