Default ADULT Bookstore in Downtown Chandler ? WHAT?

I go by the corner of Boston St. and Arizona nearly every day.
Recently I noticed these banners in the window of this lingerie store advertising adult magazines, videos, and whatever, in Bright Neon.
Now, isn't this a great image for downtown Chandler? Aren't there any zoning laws that prevent this? Is this the image of downtown that citizens want to provide to visitors?? Its right next to a well known restaurant and so close to downtown that I am embarrassed to say I live here.
I contacted the city of Chandler, but so far, no response. What do you think?

I think you shouldn't be surprised there's an adult shop in that area. I also think it's within their right to advertise their selection.

It's chandler, what do you expect? And since when does chandler have a downtown?

Why does it matter that they are advertising? It's not like they are doing anything inappropriate.

Well, Arizona is not actually the Bible Belt (thank God, since I'm an extreme liberal).

Anything worth buying, PhxBarb?

All joking aside, it is rather difficult for local governments to limit or control businesses even if they want to.

They aren't selling anything illegal so it really comes down to the zoning that already applies to all businesses in a city.

In the meantime, I highly recommend the hot cinnamon love oil.

So what's the big deal with an adult store??? We're all adults, and if it's within zonig laws......who cares....hell, I wouldn't give 2 ****s if it wasn't. All this P.C. bull**** has caused nothing but tension, rights violations, and a reason for every ****bird to cry when they feel offended.......well guess what...I'm offended by EVERYTHING you think, beleive and embrace......so where does "P.C." end??? Where is my P.C.?? Take my family for example.......me and the wife are heavily tattooed, but we aren't ****ing serial killers...we are responsible parents, and working members of society....yet we get **** on ever where we go.......my kid is handicaped, so we are even a bigger mess of freaks when you throw him in the mix and everyone stares and has "assumptions". We've been to restaurants were the initial waiter will call out all his other boys to look at me and the wife and kid. Get over your hangups.....we need MORE adult stores, MORE liqour stores, MORE Tattoo shops, MORE head shops, MORE Gun Stores.....we need to be free like America is supposed to be, and not let some ******* dictate what we can and cannot have just because they disagree with it......sadly...talking about being free is o.k,......but really being free is something that scares people to death. We need more brown power shops, more white power shops, more yellow power shops, more gay power shops....we need more of everything that will make you people that think that your are tolerant, will make you realize you aren't tolerant of anything other than what you deem accepable. Which isn't much past your own agenda......

Hard to say...some places start to attract a seedy crowd visiting booths with glory holes, but in a suburban place like Chandler, perhaps there is a market demand for couples or women or men to buy videos, wrist restraints, vibrating toys, paddles, and gagballs to stimulate their love lives. Welcome to suburbia in the wild west. Probably does not mean an end to the family-oriented values of the community, and most likely is more a convenience--why drive to Scottsdale or Phoenix to get something intimate, special or fun for your significant other (or heck, yourself!) ?
