Default Yet another question about a Mesa area

I am planning to move to the East Valley, and I have been looking at buying a house in the area around E Jensen Street & N Mesa Drive. It looks like it would be a nice, quiet neighborhood ... without the ghetto problems and the crime problems that I am hearing about in other areas. I am looking at non-HOA homes in an area that is not flooded with cookie-cutter houses. Are my impressions of this neighborhood correct?
Personal facts ... divorced, in my late-50s, quiet/introvert, moving from the Kansas City suburbs, natural aversion to parties and bars.

That specific area has older, smaller homes in the <200k range. There are some HOA and some Non-HOA properties.

In that general area there are also some larger, older homes with larger lots, up to around 1 acre, with many in Non-HOA communities.

The area north of Brown seem to be more quiet neighborhoods like you describe. A client of mine just purchased a home north of Brown and to the east of Gilbert Rd, and loves the area.

It is close to the north 202 loop for easy commute.
