anyone tried T-Bones near South Mountain??
I've been going to T-Bone since childhood. It's always been really, really good and has a very small menu (usually a good sign). The last time I went, I was a little disappointed, but it could have been an off-night.

Forgot to add others

Sushi: Ra (Old Town Scottsdale location; yes it matters which Ra you go to)

Pizza: New York Style: Jimmy and Joes (Chandler: Ray and McClintock)
Deep Dish: Vito's in Glendale (hole in the wall place but amazing)

Middle Eastern: Fallafel/Gyro sandwhiches: Greek Wraps 75th and Bell
(don't let the anglicized name fool you; it has the best
sheesh around)
Restaurant: Meditteranean cafe; it's on Bethany Home Rd
2 miles west of the 51 freeway

Gelato: Angelsweet (yes I've heard among Gelato purists that it's not that great because it tastes too much like ice cream but thats the reason I like it. It's really thick and flavorful as opposed to runny and slushy like authentic gelato.

American: Bobbys (Kierland Commons)
New Mexico: Los Dos Molinos - Phoenix location
Steak: Durants (I second that)
Best Bar Food: Teakwoods: Ray and Kyrene location in Chandler

In case somebody decides to go there - it's actually less than half a mile west of the 51, at 16th St.

I would highly recommend YC's Mongolian grill at the Scottsdale pavilions, very good food.

Rubee - Kai is amazing

I like Huas Murphys - overall solid place - nice spot to hit when the weather is nice because they have some outside seating in a gap between buildings - creates a decent amount of shade - good spot to grab a beer

When did Chanpen switch up?

I think it was sometime back in August or September. I had heard that one of the waitresses bought it, but I'm not sure of that.

Also, I just heard that my favorite wine bar in the area, Jug n Barrel in N. Glendale, just closed. Really disappointing, it was such a fantastic neighborhood spot - friendly staff, great food, live music, nice wines and beer selection. Business seemed to be good. So sad to lose another local independent restaurant.

Favorite wine bar/wine shop now is further away, but I love Brix Wine Spot in Cave Creek - opened last year and owned by a friendly, fun couple.

Kai is high on the list of must-try's, I've heard such great things. I can't wait to try it - we're saving it for a special occasion; maybe my birthday in April.

Thanks for the info on Haus Murphy's!

Yes, you did. And you're right - that place is so, so, so good.

I know of a Mediterranean House next to Richardson's (good food; owner is Korean, but menu is Middle Eastern). Is Mediterranean Cafe a different restaurant? You guys made it sound so good, I want to check it out next week.
