Can anyone suggest a church in the Gilbert/Chandler area that is Bible-based that has a worship service that uses contemporary music - in the middle between the huge churches with loud christian rock, a stage and a light show, and the old-time hymnal-singing ritualisitic church? A church with more than a handful in attendance, but not necessarily needing police to direct traffic. I am protestant, but not tied to one denomination.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Theres one on every corner practically in that area.

Why are people concerned with the visual effects of the church?

I think the reason why she is being so specific is because different people like different worship styles. I am also somewhere in the middle between a mega church with people directing traffic, loud rock music, and strobe lights and a rigid, legalistic, skirt-wearing church. It all depends on how you like to worship. If she wasn't specific and someone suggested something too much one way or the other, it would be a waste of time for her to try it out.

Yes, there's one on just about every corner. But I'm OLD! Not so old that I want a service like they were 50 years ago, just so old that I'm unable to relax when there's loud, hard driving music.

Different strokes for different folks. Some people like chick flicks, some people like shoot-em-ups. Some like vanilla ice cream, some like cookie dough with all the stir ins.

I think those churches are great - it's exciting to see all the people stream in. I attended one for a month. I just miss the style of my former church. I've visited 7 churches, 6 of them had rock music and the other one with the old fashioned service. I'm just looking for middle ground, and thought it might save some time to ask here.
