Default I'm an RN, So If I Moved to Gilbert or Chandler...

what hospitals would be the closest to commute to for work? Are there some that have a worse reputation than others? I am open to anything within a half hour's commute, so something on the east side of town more than likely. Thanks!

1) Find job

2) Find housing

Nurses on the forum have been describing tough times finding jobs, so that should be your first priority. There are nice places to live over much of the area, so it is not like you have to live in only certain parts of the city.

Check with Banner or CHW (Catholic Hospitals West) - both organizations have a number of facilities in the area you mention. For instance Banner Baywood has an outstanding Heart Hospital and Orthopod unit. And there are lots more

Thank you. My husband will have a job at Coca-Cola Tempe, so I probably should have mentioned that. That's one reason why we are sticking with the eastern suburbs. I know that even nursing jobs are not that plentiful in this economy, but with my husband working and the equity we will have from some properties that we are selling where we are now, we will be able to get by until I can find something. I have also read on this forum and elsewhere that experienced nurses are much more likely to find a job, and I have several years of hospital nursing experience, so I'm hoping that that will help me.

I'll check out both of those organizations.

Thanks again!
