It's unfortunate because Las Vegas would easily support a professional team but the league commissioners have not considered Las Vegas for expansions because of the gambling. I understand that sports isn't everything and there are other examples but I will be able to will season tickets to my family in Phoenix and carry on the tradition of going to Suns and Diamondback games which Las Vegas will never have. The casinos and tourist aspect have such an impact on that city that it really hasn't been able to develop outside of that. Las Vegas is known to have the most people move there per year but it's also recognized as the city to have the most people leave per year. It's a fun city but after a while people get tired of the tourist aspect.

It is funny you say that because I was in the Palace Station sportsbook last night. We were discussing this same issue. You are correct, there will never be professional sports teams in Vegas.

I was born and lived 30 years in Phoenix. I have been in Las Vegas now for 3 years. I can not ever imagine moving back. I would absolutely hate it and probably go insane. The only thing I miss in Phoenix is my friends. I am not dogging on Phoenix, I am just curious why you would run back to Phoenix. I have never had that urge myself.

Let me ask you a question. Why do you like Las Vegas better than Phoenix. I'm not asking this to pick a fight or to contradict you but I'm curious. I have considered moving to Las Vegas in the past but I'm so ready to leave that city every time I visit. I considered it because at one point, I thought it was more liberal and felt more like California but then I saw real downtown Las Vegas and spent time with friends outside of the strip and it felt just like Phoenix to me. The weather is a little nicer right? It's also closer to LA which is important because I'm originally from the LA metro. How is the business development and growth outside of the strip?

I haven't lived in either PHX or Vegas...but I've spent a lot of time in each one. To me, Vegas is significantly more interesting because it is so much more international on every level. Tons of things to do because of the touristic aspects.

Whereas when I've been in PHX, there is really nowhere to go...although I did like TEMPE, but it is all college students...and not that interesting.

Regarding downtown Vegas...yeah, not so interesting there.

To me, they are similar cities, except PHX is just sprawled out significantly more (i.e. less desireable), and it is really only the malls to visit in PHX, which could be just about anywhere in the U.S. Actually the same can be said for Vegas outside of the Strip.

Vegas just gives you something completely different to do. Just getting out of the house and walking on the strip is interesting...plus L.A. is within reach as well. So basically, its like a very manageable PHX with worldclass stuff and international feel to it going on around the Strip.

Don't worry, I am a nice guy and would never pick a fight or be disrespectful. First, the weather is nicer in the spring, summer and fall. But, Phoenix has a better winter. It does get colder which it took some time for me to get used to. Also, It is 120 miles or so closer to LA. I will honestly answer your question on why I like it better. This is just my opinion and lifestyle, but here goes in no particular order...

1. No photo radar. I really hated that in Phoenix.

2. As you said, more liberal with less judgemental people. I fit in much
better here than Phoenix.

3. The strip, it has lots of entertainment, I have always managed to live in walking distance of the strip. I spend most of my free time there.

4. 24 hour/7 days a week town. There is always something going on here. I do not get cut off at 2am like Phoenix.

5. Tourists, every week I get to meet and hang out with people from different states and countries. I am a people person and I always like to make new friends. I now have pen pals all over the world.

There are other reasons, I just can not think of them now. I will say this. All my friends in Phoenix got married and had kids. This is really not the best place for them. But, for a young single guy like me, Vegas can not be beat IMO.

The more social liberal, the more I like. Vegas sounds more interesting already.
