We are relocating to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Not sure where to start looking to buy a house and would appreciate any information on school districts for elementary school aged children. We vacation a lot in the Scottsdale area and love it there. However, it seems that all the developments are on golf courses. Any, feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cool contact a realtor

Your best bet is to contact a realtpr and tell him or her exactly what you are looking for and what your budget is like.

Essentially, if you like the Scottsdale area - then stick to that area of the Metro.

You might check into www.GreatSchools.net (http://www.GreatSchools.net - broken link) or Arizona Department of Education.

i checked out Great Schools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community. thank you for advice. can you please clarify something what does "unified" mean with the school system. For instance, does it mean that if there are 4 high schools in a school district and if there is a lacrosse team at one high school and not at the other. the high school that does not have the lacrosse team is closer to the kids house. the kid can actually go to the high school with the lacrosse team even though it is further away. i hope that makes sense.

thank you and any more info with be greatly appreciated. does anyone know how often greatschools.com gets updated???
