So, I decided to take the teaching job in Glendale. I'm starting to look for a nice place to live in North Glendale, west Glendale (that's by the stadiums, right?) or Peoria, so that I don't have to drive too far to work. I've realized that it'd be a lot more economical to rent a 2 or 3 br apt/house/condo and try to find a couple roomies, rather than rent a one bedroom and live by myself. I know that there's a bunch of real estate agents on here, so I'm looking for some help finding a good place to live that's okay with pets, since I own a partially blind Pug, that has tennis courts close by (I played in college), that has either a balcony or a backyard for my dog, and that's going to be economical on a first year teacher's salary (around $35K a year). I'm coming down to Az to look for a place to live around the middle of April and am moving at the beginning of May. Also, if anyone knows any good websites to find roomates, let me know.
As always, thanks for your help! |

Yay teachers! My aunt lives at 51st and Sweetwater in Glendale, near ASU. There's a park with (I believe) a tennis court nearby. ASU West used to allow non-students to play at their campus, too. My aunt's neighborhood has stayed decent through the years.
