Default high speed internet and phone service

I want to see if I can get better rates with no decline in service. Currently I have Cox and have there high speed/phone service we pay with all the taxes about 100 a month. I am not interested in their cable t.v. satellite is so much better.

Does anyone have any other suggestions. My friend uses vonage and says it's great.

I have cox digital phone and hi-speed internet and we pay about $60/month.

They do offer a cheaper internet access but you have to specifically ask for it. That one is about $30/month; we don't download much music or videos, so I don't even notice any difference in speed.

Call up COX and tell them that with all that is going on wiht the economy you just can't afford to keep all their services...you may have to initiate a "cancel of services"...

This worked for me last week and I got them to drop my High Speed Internet from $44.95 down to $33.95 per month. I had already cancelled my phone since we all have 4 cell phones anyways.

I have pretty much done this with EVERYTHING...DIRECTV, COX Interent, etc. I saved just over $100 per month all said! Not earth shattering, but hey, a 100 bucks is a 100 bucks!

We live in a Negotiating/Bail Out world now....!

The Cox broadband service now costs $35/month not 30.00. They raised it recently.
And it's not high speed. I get about 250 KB/sec. download. Something to keep in mind if you download a lot which we don't.

We just signed up with Qwest. We have DirectTV in Chicago and our phone and internet through AT&T. We were able to purchase a bundle package with home phone w/ 3 calling features (caller ID, call waiting, etc.), high-speed internet, and DirectTV w/ HD DVR on one TV and we will be paying just under $100/mo. including all taxes. We pay around $160/mo. for our currect services, but we don't have HD channels now. We also got 3 months of HBO, Starz and Showtime for free. I can't comment on the service since we are moving in 2 weeks, but the price is good.

I don't have cable, or internet. I just learned to live without it. I work almost 12 hours a day on a computer, and when I come home I'm usually not wanting to look at a computer. But if it's neccessary I can use my blackberry to get online by itself or I can use it as modem to connect to my laptop which gets me DL speeds of about 200k. I do live by myself though, but if my kids were here, I'd have to get those services turned on lol
