Default Nice Resort for a Quick Vacation

Hey there. I live in Goodyear, AZ. My husband and I are having our first baby in 4 months.. I am picturing a quick 3 day vacation in...Scottsdale? Tempe? I don't know. A resort where we can basically lounge by the pool and hang out in a really nice room. Maybe have dinner. One last fling kinda thing. I know it will be some time before we will be able to do this again.
Any suggestions?
thank you.

I've wandered around inside both the Biltmore and The Phoenician and I definitely feel that The Phoenician is the more interesting and luxurious resort. Both are really nice though.

Been to both many times and I will second the nomination for the Phoenician, nothing quite like it.

I have heard Kierland is nice but have not stayed there.

The only resort we've stayed at is the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. We loved it (especially the spa and rooftop pool), and that was before the recent renovation.

Resorts we've visited for dinner and thought were beautiful, great restaurants, had excellent service, etc:

Sanctuary Camelback - restaurant is Elements
The Phoenician - restaurant is J&G Steakhouse
JW Marriott at Desert Ridge - restaurant is Roy's
Westin Kierland - restaurant is Deseo

Both J&G and Elements have outdoor terraces and wonderful views of the valley at sunset.

We also just chose the new Montelucia Resort for an upcoming visit from friends as a place to spend the day because it looks so beautiful (Spanish/villa theme) and the restaurant (Prado) looks great.

Royal Palms. Get a casita and you'll get a very private experience. The pool is nice. The restaurant (T. Cook's) is faaaaaantastic. I think it's all much better than a stay at one of the bigger resorts out here.

I'd say Royal Palms, Biltmore, Wigwam. They all have something special going for them that the newer places (even the Phoenician is newer, though it's not new) just can't match.

I wasn't blow away by Red's @ the Wigwam

T.Cooks is a place I need to try

An isolated option could be Wild Horse Pass - i don't think the grounds are the greatest - but Kai is amazing
