Best Charter High Schools in Mesa/Gilbert/Chandler?
Our daughter will be attending a new high school somewhere in the East Valley this fall, depending on where we buy a house. I have heard good things about the Gilbert district high schools, but they are huge compared to where we are coming from, so we are thinking about a charter school instead. Can anyone make any suggestions or steer us away from any that aren't so good?
Thanks!

Red Mountain Ranch H.S. in N.E. Mesa is supposed to be good, and it's not that huge I think. If we hadn't moved, that's were my son would have gone. We picked the area specifically for the good schools.

Be Careful of the Charter Schools, most are filled with kids who have been kicked out of the regular schools.

With all due respect, there are some outstanding charter schools, most notably the Great Hearts Schools, with the best scores in the State I believe. But there are waiting lists for them--Chandler Prep, Tempe Prep (the very best one), and there might be one in Gilbert now. Check it out. But I hear what Sheena is saying....the schools that focus on "individual attention" may not be focusing on the truly gifted, first and foremost.

Okay, so do you know anything about Heritage Academy on Center St. in Mesa? I have read excellent reviews online, and they have a waiting list too. They also have an entrance exam for grade placement. That is the school that we are looking at for dd.
