That address would appear to be in the Deck Park.

Smile 85009 = not good!!!!

OK, this is not a good area, this is one of the worst areas of Phoenix Between Van Buren and Lower Buckeye and maybe 19th Ave and 43rd? Ave. Ouch, I have many stories about that area and none of them are good :-(

I lived in Phoenix, AZ, 85009 (30th Ave. & Buckeye) for about a year (July 2009-July 2010). It is true that it is not a pretty area, but it is not as dangerous as the other postings claim it to be. I did not hear a single gunshot the entire time I lived there. The neighborhood was actually a lot better than the ones 5-10 miles north of it. It is mostly a lot of Hispanic families just trying to get by. Many tire shops and a few industrial areas. I would not recommend walking around there at night, however, I would not recommend walking anywhere at night in Phoenix. Stay away from 85017 and 85301! I lived at 85017 for 14 years and you WILL hear gunshots often in that area. 85301 has a LOT of drug-related crimes; constantly police showing up to correct problems in the neighborhood. 85051 (lived there for 4 years) is a middle-class neighborhood, and if you start heading north from there (43rd Ave. & Olive/Dunlap) the neighborhoods turn into upper-middle class. 43rd-63rd Ave. & Peoria Ave.-Bell Rd is a nice upper-middle class area.

You'd better off trying to get out near Lavine... 51st ave and Baseline area... Still ghetto, but not as bad.
Lol, you must have a high tolerance. If I have to hear gun fire at night and carry a weapon after dark, I think I'd live elsewhere.
